Tracing the Roots of Pinoy Rock
Music
Part I
& Part II

About the Pinoy Classic Rock website

Who says 50s, 60s & 70s music are gone (o laos na)? No way, Jose! Those classic or oldies music, the sounds of the "baby-boomer" generation, are still alive & rocking. No matter wherever you go, those groovy, super tunes we grew up with can be heard on radios, movies, TV commercials, nightclubs and parties. In fact, many of the songs of that era are now being remake by various contemporary music artists or groups.

In that retrospect, we would like to welcome you in visiting the Pinoy Classic Rockers (PCR) website. This website is dedicated to the Pinoy bands, musicians and artists of the 60s & 70s who contributed to the evolution of the Pinoy Rock music as well as the OPM (Original Pinoy Music) phenomenon. Bands such as The Eletromaniacs, RJ & The Riots, The Hi-Jacks, The Deltas, Moonstrucks, Tilt Down Men, Dynasouls, Bits & Pieces, Downbeats, The Blinkers, Ronnie Villar, Hot Dog, Juan de la Cruz, Banyuhay, Anakbayan, Mother Earth, Maria Cafra, APO, Sampaguita, Hagibis, Boyfriends, VST, Asin and many others who unknowingly had made their marks to the history of Pinoy pop music. Thus, this website is a sincere gesture of thanking and tribute to them.

We will (try to) feature those Pinoy bands-musicians-artists that were in the limelight of the 1960s & 1970s music scenes in the Philippines as well as abroad. "Whatever had happened to them and where are they now?" shall be the theme of our PCR website. We hope to get hold of them, share their thoughts and reminiscence about such golden era.

So bear with us and LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL & KEEP ON ROCKIN'! :)
